Upper

This form of carbon steel produces the least volume of carbon (0.05 to 0.15 percent) and is probably the cheapest of the bunch. Low carbon steel, like many other forms, includes manganese, phosphorous, and sulphur. It also includes perlite (a non-cristalline rigid volcanic glass that exists naturally) and ferrite (an iron alloy). The flexible and ductile design allows for outstanding formability and weldability. It is most widely used in the production of home appliances, tin plates and vehicle body parts, owing to its special properties.

Gentle

With a carbon content of 0.16 to 0.29 per cent, this substance displays outstanding malevolence but has a comparatively poor tensile power. Strong

Medium carbon steel is most widely used in belt, wheel, and shaft manufacturing. It can also be used in rail line engineering.

Higher

High carbon steel provides outstanding strength with a carbon content of 0.6 to 0.99 per cent and is commonly used in the manufacturing of pipes, heavy tension tubes, masonry bolts, drill bits, metal and wood cutting equipment and pressing machines. However, relative to the other types it is much more delicate and can crack when mishandled.

Very Large

This form of steel can be polished to reach superior toughness with a carbon content of around 1 to 2 per cent. It is the form most widely used in knife making.
